Nandos reopens seven sites for NHS staff amid Covid-19 crisis

Nandos has announced it is reopening seven of its city-centre restaurants to provide 1,700 free meals to NHS and frontline workers each day amid the Covid-19 crisis.

The restaurants reopening include four in London, two in Manchester and one in Dublin and will operate behind closed doors exclusively for NHS workers and local charities. 

Food will be dropped off directly at hospitals every evening between 6pm and 9pm and each restaurant will work under strict health and safety measures while maintaining social distancing. 

Each restaurant team is looking to cook up to 250 meals a shift before delivering them every evening to those who need them most.

Previously, before closing operations, Nando’s donated 20,000 free meals to NHS workers and has kept in touch with local NHS teams to work out how best to help them during the pandemic.

The restaurant decided to temporarily close its doors following the government’s plea for people to ‘Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives’.
