Trade bodies reassure sector as Omicron declared ‘mild’
Despite the slow-down in cancellations, the trade bodies warned that latest figures indicate the sector has been hit by a 30% slump in Christmas bookings even before the emergence of Omicron
According to a number of hospitality trade bodies the “hard-pressed” sector has received a “much-needed” boost, with the World Health Organisation (WHO) announcement that cases of the Covid-19 variant Omicron appear to be ‘mild’.
