Chopstix launches Canary Wharf flagship with ‘outstanding’ sales

In 2022, Chopstix plans to open at least 12 new stores, through a mix of directly owned and operated stores (equity stores), and also in concert with partners, building on its franchise operation

Chopstix Noodle Bar has opened its new flagship in Canary Wharf which has seen an “outstanding” opening week of trading, having already established itself as one of the top five performing stores in the Chopstix estate. 

The Chopstix Canary Wharf opening represents a “significant statement of intent” from the QSR brand in growing its footprint in the capital.

The new location is set to be a flagship site for Chopstix which includes design elements such as its ‘living wall’, natural wood finishes and its winking anime character that features across all Chopstix locations.

To support the site launch, the new Canary Wharf team distributed 1,000 portions of Chopstix’s vegetable spring rolls as well as 100 free medium boxes to the first diners through the door.

Jon Lake, managing director for Chopstix, said: “We have been looking to expand our footprint in the capital for some time and a site in Canary Wharf topped the list, so we’re thrilled we’re finally in a position to open our doors.

We have invested significant energy in market mapping research and this new location is ideally suited for Chopstix so we’re confident this restaurant will be highly successful. We’re looking forward to serving the residents and workers of Canary Wharf.”

The Canary Wharf restaurant opening is the next step in a busy year of growth for the QSR group, having already announced the appointment of the company’s first franchise director and a new partnership with UK holiday operator, Haven. 

Established in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, Chopstix celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. 

The Chopstix group, comprises over 80 locations across the UK and Ireland through a mix of company owned and operated locations and franchise sites run through partnerships with the likes of Welcome Break and Applegreen.
