Thesleff Group acquires Sale e Pepe

The company is also set to launch a new 14,000 sq ft restaurant in Liverpool Street’s Broadgate Circle in Autumn 2023

The Thesleff Group, which operates Los Mochis and Viajante87, has acquired Italian restaurant Sale e Pepe restaurant based in Knightsbridge London.

The acquisition of the restaurant includes the leasehold of the property and the rights to the brand.

Previous owner of the restaurant Toni Corricelli is retiring after setting up the business on Pavilion Road in 1974. The restaurant was extended in 1985.

Thesleff plans to keep many of the classic dishes on the menu, such as linguine all’aragosta with lobster, cherry tomatoes, basil and garlic, and sogliola alla mugnaia (Dover sole).

However, the new owners will also introduce new elements such as vitello tonnato, thinly sliced veal with tuna and caper sauce.

Markus Thesleff, founder of Thesleff group, stated in a LinkedIn post: Extremely excited to be able to announce the acquisition of the iconic restaurant Sale e Pepe of Knightsbridge. A London institution for almost 50 years!”

Thesleff group was founded by Markus in 2019. The group owns both Los Mochis, the Mexican-Japanese restaurant and agaveria bar, as well as Viajante87, the recently opened zero waste cocktail bar, also in Notting Hill.

The company is also set to launch a new 14,000 sq ft restaurant in Liverpool Street’s Broadgate Circle in Autumn 2023.
