Nomad London appoints executive chef

Yates will launch his first menu at Nomad on 26 April

Nomad London in Covent Garden has announced the appointment of Michael Yates as executive chef.

He will lead the culinary program at Nomad, including its signature restaurant, the Mexican-inspired Side Hustle, the Library and the newly opened cocktail bar, Common Decency.

His experience includes Northcote in Blackburn and Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh. He has also worked in three-Michelin-starred kitchen Oud Sluis, a former culinary destination in the Netherlands.

He also opened Sail and Anchor, a 24-seat restaurant, in Antwerp in 2016 before taking the decision to close this year.

Chris Perone, general manager, said: “We have long since admired Michael’s work from afar and have had the great pleasure of dining in his restaurant and experiencing his unique culinary approach first-hand over the years.

Yates will launch his first menu at Nomad on 26 April.
