Punch Pubs adds two pubs to growing portfolio

The Harrows Inn and the Cornerhouse will both undergo further investments with new signage, lighting and internal redecorations

Independent Pub Company Punch Pubs and Co has recently acquired two new community pubs to add to its 1,300-strong portfolio.

The pub company, based in Burton upon Trent, had been seeking more quality acquisitions, including packages and single-site opportunities that fit with its modern and progressive vision and growth plans.

The first of these two acquisitions, The Harrows Inn, is a pub located in the South Staffordshire village of Coven, close to Wolverhampton, and is known locally for providing a good food offer.

It also benefits from a vast outdoor space which comfortably seats 160 people, though Punch Pubs plans to enhance this further by investing in the outdoor trading space with new signage, lighting and a much-needed upgrade to the children’s play area.

The second pub is the Cornerhouse in Beverley, East Yorkshire. Punch sees huge potential in this pub that boasts a great range of cask ales and is known to serve a quality pint of beer.

The group plans to complete an investment to breathe new life into the Cornerhouse, with works including a complete internal and external redecoration, with new signage, lighting and a new garden landscape for guests to enjoy.

The pub will undergo investment in September. After the investment, it will launch a new food menu that will be served to the local community and visitors to the area seven days a week.

Speaking of the acquisitions, Punch Pubs head of estate development & acquisitions, Andrew Cannons, said: “We are so proud to bring these two excellent pubs into our estate. Both pubs have huge potential, and we are confident that under our guardianship, they will continue to thrive at the heart of their communities for many years to come.

“This is an exciting time for Punch, and we are continuing to look for additional high-quality pubs to add to our existing estate.”
