The DLUHC has allocated £25m from the Community Ownership Fund to aid over 70 pubs, cinemas, and museums across the UK. This funding aims to sustain the operations of these community assets and ensure safety in communal areas. Each selected project will receive up to £2m, with 26 community centres, 14 creative spaces like museums and theatres, 12 sports clubs, three vital community shops, eight community pubs, and four parks benefiting from this round.

UKHospitality’s 2024 strategy aims to thrust the hospitality industry into policy priority before the impending General Election. The three-point plan zeroes in on key reforms: business rates overhaul to generate investment, Apprenticeship Levy restructuring for job creation, and a VAT rate reduction to boost economic growth. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak must call the election before 28 January 2025, while Chancellor Jeremy Hunt’s Spring budget will be announced on 6 March 2024.
