Butcombe Pubs and Inns sees ‘record sales’ in March

The Mother’s Day weekend led to an increase in food sales of over 29%

Butcombe Pubs and Inns has reported “record sales” for March thanks to a bumper Mother’s Day weekend and the Cheltenham Festival.

The Mother’s Day weekend saw the pub group, with sites across the south of England, cater nearly 8% more covers than last year. This year both Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March proved equally popular with those celebrating equating to an increase in food sales of over 29%.

Jayson Perfect, COO, Liberation Group (owners of Butcombe Pubs and Inns) said: “We’re delighted with such a strong start to the Spring/Summer season.  Mother’s Day is a big deal and one of the first seasonal sale markers of the year, so to beat our own past records is something to be very proud of.

Similarly, Butcombe Pubs and Inns’ sites in and around Cheltenham were fully booked both in terms of accommodation and dining, with race-goers choosing to stay for the duration of the Cheltenham Festival which ran from Tuesday 12 to Friday 15 March.  

Perfect added: “Our Gloucestershire pubs were packed to the rafters with racing fans from all over the world, here to enjoy everything the iconic Cheltenham Festival has to offer. We were delighted to look after them with superb accommodation, excellent food and our award-winning beer and it was great seeing everyone coming together and enjoying themselves.”
