Joe and the Juice reported a 42% revenue rise to £275.9m for 2023. For the first time in several years, the group also saw a positive operating profit, which reached £20.4m. The increase in operating profit was primarily driven by a continued focus on profitability and on the opening of 40 new stores across 19 countries. 

Elior secured a new three-year contract with The Whitaker in Rossendale to serve local produce across the museum and art gallery’s 65-seat restaurant, outdoor kiosk and variety of event spaces.

JD Wetherspoon will invest £5m in the redevelopment of its Mile Castle pub in Newcastle. The pub will undergo a full internal refurbishment, to include decoration, new carpet, upgraded lighting, extending the bar on the third floor and creating a new cellar. The development will result in 70 new full and part-time jobs, to add to the 130 people employed at the pub.

RedCat appointed David Roberts as its new group property director from the start of June. He will be replacing Kamran Aziz who will be entering planned retirement. Roberts was previously group property director at Stonegate Group, where he oversaw one of the largest pub investment programmes in the UK.
