Today’s news in brief – 24/05/24

SSP Group has reported a 19% rise in revenues to £1.5bn in H1. The global travel concessions operator also revealed that it is on track to deliver on its full-year expectations. The group expects FY24 demand for travel to remain resilient despite macroeconomic and political uncertainty.

Spaces at The Spine appointed Gareth Penn as its new head chef. Penn will lead the kitchen in all areas, covering catering and the adjoining wellness cafe, The Base. He brings a wealth of experience to the role with a 26-year-long career primarily working in hotels and restaurants.

Kung Fu Burger will open in Chinatown London’s Shaftesbury Avenue in partnership with restaurateur, Alex Xu. The Chinese burger concept, which will occupy a 100 sq ft kiosk, was inspired by the current street food phenomenon sweeping the ESEA region. 

Berkshire’s The Vineyard Hotel has launched a new outdoor dining concept: OutSide. This launch expanded the hotel’s dining options alongside The Tasting Room and The Vineyard Restaurant. Located just 30 minutes from London, OutSide is located opposite The Vineyard’s lobby, amongst the hotel’s manicured gardens.
