Fuller’s has reported a 61% rise in profits before tax to £20.5m for the year ended 30 March. It comes as sales at the brewing company rose by 7% to £359.1m, while EBITDA reached £60.8m. During the year, the company also invested £27.2m in its existing estate of properties.

UKH has urged all political parties to give the sector their backing, as it maintains that hospitality can grow at a “significantly” faster rate than the wider economy. The call comes during a week of party manifestos being launched, where UKH has already secured commitments for the sector.

Cornish Bakery has appointed Mat Finch as its first ever MD to work alongside founder Steve Grocutt to drive the company’s stated objectives of “building a unique team culture, winning beautifully and supercharging swift growth”. Finch has over 20 years of commercial leadership experience in the leisure, hospitality, retail and tech sectors.

Brunning and Price has been named the UK’s top pub operator by CGA. Other operators in the top five include St Austell Brewery, Hydes Anvil, Youngs and Everards. Brunning and Price also tops the rankings when measured solely by guest recommendation ratings, ahead of Youngs and St Austell.
