JD Wetherspoon has hit back at TUC for calling it a low-pay employer, saying that the Trade Union Congress’ criticism of its business model and employment style is “completely inaccurate and unjustified”. The TUC’s comments were from an interview in The Telegraph, in which it also named Amazon, Sports Direct and P&O Ferries “anti-union employers”.  

Greggs plans to open a national distribution centre in Kettering in partnership with Tritax Symmetry. This initiative aims to expand the group’s supply chain to meet the needs of its growing number of shops across the UK. expected to open in H1 2027, the centre will encompass 311,551 sq ft of logistics space on a 25.1-acre plot. 

Moving Venue has secured a five-year partnership with Freemasons’ Hall to serve as the official caterer for external commercial events and in-house lodge dining for members. Freemasons’ Hall features four large spaces available for commercial hire; the Grand Temple, Vestibules, the Gallery Suite and the Old Board Room.

Park Side will be opening at the Amber Vista development in Cardiff tomorrow (17 July). The all-day brunch venue will be the second opening from founders Sophie Pascoe and her mother. Cardiff’s Park Side will cater for up to 60 covers a night, with an additional 40 covers available on a covered, heated terrace.
