Marston’s has reported a 5.2% rise in LFL sales in the year-to-date and a 6.2% rise in total retail sales in managed and franchised pubs for the 42-week period to 20 July. The group saw considerable uplift during Euro 2024, with like-for-like sales for the week of the semi-final and final matches rising by 8%. 

Mitchells and Butlers has reported that LFL sales rose 3.4% in Q3, as sales remained ahead of the market despite the generally wet weather. Like-for-like revenues also rose 5.7% in the 42-week period, with M&B maintaining that all of its brands are growing. Looking ahead, the group anticipates net costs headwinds in the region of £55m this financial year. 

Shuffle will inject £2.5m into Manchester’s hospitality sector. Manchester will be the start-up investment platform’s first location and has already partnered with Madre, Medlock Canteen, Trof and Bold Street Coffee. Shuffle will provide upfront capital to its partner venues without requiring hospitality businesses to give up company equity.

Bunsik and Kung Fu Burger will open new sites in London’s Chinatown. Bunsik will join Chinatown London’s food landscape in September, while restaurateur Alex Xu has launched his latest brand, Kung Fu Burger, at 104 Shaftesbury Avenue.
