Danish steakhouse KöD to open second site in Soho

DiningSix restaurant brand KöD, London’s only Danish steakhouse, is set to open a second site in Soho in mid August.
Behind the brand is London based founding partner Morten P. Ortwed who, along with five friends, launched KöD in Denmark in 2014 before expanding into Norway and moving to the UK to oversee the UK developments and launch KöD City in March 2023.
The name KöD means meat in Danish and is pronounced similarly to ‘cool’. KöD Soho is inspired by the same format of its sister restaurant, KöD City on Devonshire Square but with a few new additions and differences.

Morten’s wife, Catrine Ortwed is also heavily involved in the design for KöD Soho and will be a part of the restaurant management team when it opens in August.
Morten’s hospitality career started waiting tables but an opportunity to take on the franchise of a cafe, restaurant and nightclub with a group of friends 2009 led to the creation of DiningSix which now features eight successful brands including 22 restaurants across several countries.
KöD City was the seventh opening under this brand name for the Danish group. There are currently three sites in Denmark – two in Copenhagen and one in Aarhus as well as three Norway premises in Frogner and Posthallen, Oslo and another in Stavanger.
