The Salad Project to open sixth site on Fenchurch Street

The new location, which has been chosen for its proximity to Central London offices, marks a step in the group’s plan to open 20 stores by 2028

The Salad Project will be opening its sixth location on London’s Fenchurch Street on 16 August.

Fenchurch Street will not only serve as one of the chain’s healthy lunch spots, but will also house The Salad Project Training Academy and the SP Testing Lab for “the latest recipe development and customer testing”.

The Salad Project Academy will serve as the central hub for training new employees, providing real-life customer service and food preparation scenarios.

From kitchen porters to kitchen store managers, all training will take place at Fenchurch Street Academy.

According to the group, future stores will also hire from Fenchurch as it will provide it with “quick access to well-trained employees” who have completed its rigorous training programme.

In addition, Fenchurch Street will be home to the new SP Lab, where The Salad Project’s culinary director Clementine Haxby will lead recipe development and testing.

This ‘testing playground’ will allow the group more agility to experiment with new ideas and improve existing menu items, all while maintaining a strong dialogue with customers to understand their preferences.

James Dare, co-founder of The Salad Project, said: “The Fenchurch Street store represents a significant milestone for us. Not only are we expanding our reach, but we are also enhancing our ability to innovate and train our wonderful Salad Project employees.

“This location will be the heart of our growth and innovation, ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible experience to our customers.”
