Starbucks has appointed Brian Niccol as its new incoming CEO from 9 September this year. It comes as Laxman Narasimhan is stepping down from the role with immediate effect. In the meantime, CFO Rachel Ruggeri will serve in an interim capacity. Niccol currently serves as chairman and CEO of Chipotle and has been in the role since 2018. 

The BBPA, BII, Hospitality Ulster and UKH have called for business rates reform, having produced a survey detailing the biggest issues for the sector. According to the survey, 80% of respondents stated that reforming business rates in the Autumn budget would have a positive impact on their business.

Chit ‘n’ Chaat will be opening a new 2,000 sq ft location at the Trafford Centre this autumn. The Indian street food brand, which is based in Manchester, will mark its fourth restaurant in the city and will focus on streamlined kitchen operations and sustainability practices.
