UKH has called for a consultation of the government’s Employment Rights Bill to avoid “unintended negative consequences”, saying the changes are not without cost. While the trade body welcomes the government’s recognition of the importance of employment flexibility, it believes that protecting the sector’s access to zero hours contracts is “essential”.

Cooks Coffee has reported a 26% rise in group store sales to £16.4m in H1. It comes as UK store sales rose by 36% at £11.4m during the period, while Ireland store sales increased by 6.7% to £5.1m. The group also increased its portfolio from 75 sites to 83 sites in the UK and Ireland as of 29 September 2024.
