Today’s news in brief – 25/10/24

Punch Pubs has reported a 43.6% uplift in operating profits for the year ended 11 August, following a successful acquisition strategy. It comes as total revenues at the pub group also rose 3.45% from £313.5m to £324.3m in the current period. The group currently comprises 1,258 pubs, 92% of which are owned on a freehold or long-leasehold basis.

Beds and Bars Ltd has appointed Luke Knowles as its new CEO, following the retirement of managing director Murray Roberts who spent nearly three decades at the group – the last 10 years in the MD role. His journey with the group is marked by “significant milestones”, including the expansion of Beds and Bars across major cities in Europe.

Dim Sum by China Tang has opened at Harrods Dining Hall, nearly two decades after opening its doors at The Dorchester. The Cantonese restaurant offers 25 covers and a curated selection of 14 savoury and two sweet dim sum variations. The interior design of the venue at Harrods integrates with the “historic charm” of the Harrods Dining Hall.
