Drinks sales in hospitality venues are “lagging” behind on tough comparatives to 2023. It comes as widespread chilly weather has pushed down sales throughout the week ended 23 November, with 17 November the only day with positive growth. Weekend sales also struggled, falling by 8% on 22 November, and by 14% on 23 November as Storm Bert hit some parts of Britain.

Wingstop has named Dirujan Sabesan its first CMO. In his new role, Sabesan will oversee the QSR chain’s creative marketing strategy during its next era of growth, alongside a new in-house team of five specialists, spanning creative, social media and management.
