Northern hospitality has outperformed its southern counterparts in 2024, according to the latest data from NRB and CGA by NielsenIQ, as the north of England recorded a modest growth of 0.1% in licensed venues while the south experienced a slight decrease of -0.2%. Northern cities have outperformed in both site growth and customer feedback.
Market Halls will be opening its latest venture in Paddington on 3 March. Spanning 11,000 sq ft, Market Halls Paddington will feature eight food traders, two bars, an outdoor terrace, and communal seating for up to 355 guests inside and 130 outside. New brands are expected to join existing traders such as Gopal’s Corner by Roti King and Black Bear Burger.
Bohemia has retained its Michelin star for the 21st consecutive year. The restaurant, located at The Club Hotel and Spa, is one of only 19 other restaurants in the UK to have held a star for that long – and remains the only Channel Island restaurant to hold a star. The news also marks head chef Callum Graham’s fifth year at Bohemia.
Cafe Linea will open this summer in Chelsea’s Grade II-listed 19th-Century arcade overlooking Duke of York Square. Founded by husband and wife Greg and Felicity Godik, Cafe Linea “reimagines the classic arcade dining experience from across Europe”. The pair have appointed Carolina Ferpozzi as chef partner, and will offer a breakfast and brunch menu.
