Boxpark has appointed the former boss of Gusto Italian as its new CEO, as the hospitality operator continues to expand in the UK. The news follows the appointment of Chris Burford as CFO, who will be supporting and strengthening the operations and growth strategy of the business. Matt Snell, who joins with over 25 years of hospitality experience, has previously held senior roles at Gusto Italian, Fuller’s, Smith and Turner, and Red’s True Barbecue.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced new allergen guidance to consumers with food hypersensitivities. The new guidance states that written allergen information should always be available for non-prepacked food alongside a conversation between servers and customers about their allergen requirements. Trade body UKHospitality has welcomed the new guidance stating that it “aims to strike the right balance”.
Marston’s CFO Hayleigh Lupino has announced her decision to step down from the role to pursue a new opportunity outside of the pub group. However, Lupino will remain in her CFO role and as executive director until October 2025 to “ensure a smooth transition”. The group has said that the process to recruit a new CFO is underway and a further update will be issued in due course.
Vagabond has reopened its wine bar in Battersea Power Station following an extensive refurbishment. According to the business, the wine bar has been “reimagined to offer an even more immersive and stylish” experience for wine lovers. The refurb made space for more than 40 additional guests. Vagabond in Battersea features a curated selection of over 100 wines from around the world, alongside a reimagined food menu.
