Brewdog appoints new chief executive officer

Alongside Taylor, Lauren Carrol has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO) moving up from her current chief marketing officer (CMO) position

Brewdog has announced the promotion of its chief financial officer (CFO) James Taylor to the role of CEO, effective immediately. 

The announcement follows the resignation of current chief executive James Arrow due to personal reasons.

Alongside Taylor, Lauren Carrol has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO) moving up from her current chief marketing officer (CMO) position.

Taylor’s financial and strategic expertise has played a key role in restoring BrewDog to profitability. 

Prior to joining the Scottish brewer, he held senior roles at Mayborn, the parent company of Tommee Tippee, GHD, and Anya Hindmarch.

Meanwhile, Carrol’s knowledge of the craft beer industry and experience as chief marketing officer have contributed to the successful growth of brands such as Wingman and Black Heart.

She previously held project management roles at Stork and brings a strong operational background to her new role.

According to the group’s latest results its sales were up 12% to £280.9m in the year ended 31 December 2023.
