Lomond Leisure Group to open Kirk O’The Lochs restaurant and bar
Kirk O’The Lochs has joined the Lomond Leisure Group, alongside its Glasgow-based Mharsanta and Van Winkle restaurants, and the Tolbooth Tavern restaurant in Edinburgh

Lomond Leisure Group has announced the launch of a new restaurant and bar, Kirk O’The Lochs, in the village of Tarbet, Scotland, in April 2025.
The new restaurant, which seats up to 100 guests, is set in a restored historic church in the heart of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
Kirk O’The Lochs will offer traditional Scottish cuisine with a modern twist, featuring locally sourced ingredients, an outdoor beer garden, Sunday lunches and a carefully curated selection of Scottish ales and malt whiskies.

Lomond Leisure Group, established in March 2021, is an independent hospitality operator based in central Scotland led by directors Chris Thyne and Derek Mallon, both of whom have “extensive” experience in the UK hospitality sector.
Thyme began his career in 1989 with the My Kinda Town Group and has held significant roles, including director of operations at The Restaurant Group PLC, where he contributed to the development of brands like Coast to Coast and Firejacks.
Similarly, Mallon also started with the My Kinda Town Group in 1989 and later joined The Restaurant Group, rising to deputy managing director.
Mallon, director said: “We are excited to bring our passion for Scottish cuisine and hospitality to this beautiful region. Kirk O’The Lochs will offer a unique dining experience that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Scotland while providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors.”
