Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant group to open in London
The Imperial Treasure Restaurant Group has announced it is to open a London site in November, after previous success at Michelin-starred restaurants in Hong Kong, China and Singapore.
Imperial Treasure will open its new restaurant in the city’s St James’s area and is expected to focus on Chinese-inspired fine dining. The group currently runs 23 restaurants worldwide and has amassed 50 Michelin ‘best’ listings alongside its four Michelin stars.
The London site will be 8,500 sq ft spread across three floors, Imperial Treasure has signed a 25 year lease on the property. Imperial Treasure chief executive and founder Alfred Leung said: “We are very excited to be opening our London restaurant in 10 Waterloo Place, St James’s.
“We were searching for a location and size that reflects our brand and aspiration. When we identified this world class opportunity, we were very pleased to work with Barings Real Estate Advisers to introduce the very fine Chinese cuisine of Imperial Treasure to London’s residents and visitors.”
Imperial Treasure has told Catering Today it has no plans “for the time being” to open any further UK restaurants after plans to continue its European expansion into Paris in 2019 were found on its website.
