Hospitality industry third most likely to receive pay rise

New research has found that the hospitality sector workers in the hospitality sector are the third most likely to receive a pay rise.

The report from job site, CV-Library, analysed job market data throughout 2018 and compared this with statistics from 2017. The findings revealed that average salaries were on the rise across the UK and that hospitality was one of the top sectors for a pay rise. The full list includes:

• Legal – Pay up by 7.6% making the average salary £33,660 
• Marketing – Pay up by 7.1% making the average salary £34,420 
• Hospitality – Pay up by 7.1% making the average salary £28,850 
• Customer Services – Pay up by 4.4% making the average salary £22,790 
• IT – Pay up by 4.3% making the average salary £44,100 
• Sales – Pay up by 3.9% making the average salary £31,690 
• Design – Pay up by 3.2% making the average salary £31,970 
• Accounting – Pay up by 3.2% making the average salary £33,910 
• Recruitment – Pay up by 2.9% making the average salary £29,880 
• Catering – Pay up by 2.8% making the average salary £24,570
