Natasha’s Law leads to ‘staggering increase’ in Allergen Awareness training
On behalf of Tayl
The numbers of hospitality professionals undertaking allergen awareness courses has increased by more than 1,200 per cent in the six months since Natasha’s Law was introduced. According to data from Tayl, the easy-to-use learning management software provider, completion rates for training specific to allergen awareness has increased 13-fold since October last year.
Natasha’s Law came into effect on 1 October 2021, meaning that all food outlets are now legally required to provide full ingredient lists with clear allergen labelling on pre-packed for direct sale foods (PPDS).
Above and beyond the legal obligation, the number of hospitality businesses choosing to upskill their staff on the important topic has risen exponentially, as seen by Tayl’s dedicated course uptake. Six months on, the number of hospitality professionals having completed allergen awareness training by the end of March 2022 is 1,203 per cent higher than completions as of October 2021.
Graeme Scott, founder and CEO at Tayl, said: “The introduction of Natasha’s Law shone a light on a vital issue within the hospitality sector and its positive impact is clearly being made with proactive upskilling in allergen awareness increasing rapidly.
“At Tayl we’re dedicated to making sure businesses of all shapes and sizes can access affordable and easy-to-use employee training, and making a difference in any small way, such as contributing to boosting awareness of something so critical, means we’re successful in exactly what we set out to achieve.”
