Angel Central celebrates Pelicana and Myungrang Hotdog openings

The new openings coincide with Angel Central’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

CBRE Investment Management has announced the launch of Pelicana, a South Korean fried chicken brand, as well as its specialty corn dog concept, Myungrang Hotdog, at Angel Central, Islington.

Pelicana has officially opened its second and largest restaurant in the UK in the newly refurbished Angel Central, occupying a 2,172 sq ft unit above Monsoon, seating 80 covers. 

The space offers both takeaway and dine-in options from a range of traditional Korean dishes including vegetarian and vegan options, and its signature flavours, ranging from ‘classic crispy’ to ‘volcano’.

As well as Pelicana, the group has also announced the opening of  Myungrang Hotdog, a 1,600 sq ft space on Angel Central’s ground level, with both takeaway and dine-in options.

The brand-new concept boasts Korea’s famous corn dogs, with whole mozza hotdog and potato hotdog on the menu.

Ciara Daffy, asset manager at CBRE Investment Management, said: “The launch of these exciting new brands, Pelicana and Myungrang Hotdog, adds variety and increases the appeal to our dining offer at Angel Central. 

“These unique concepts offer new tastes, flavours and cultures, and we are looking forward to both restaurants becoming firm favourites as part of the culinary line-up at Angel Central.”

Mr Kim, owner of Pelicana and Myungrang Hotdog, added: “Opening our largest Pelicana site within the UK and at Angel Central is an exciting move for us as a brand. This launch, in addition to Myungrang Hotdog finally opening its doors to a UK audience for the first time, is something to celebrate. 

“We look forward to welcoming consumers from London and further afield, to experience our unique Korean culinary offerings, and delivering something distinctive for the Islington community as we expand our brands further.”
