Deliveroo names Claudia Arney as chair
Deliveroo has named Claudia Arney as the company’s first chair, as the business gears up for a “year of growth”.
Arney, who currently holds directorships at the Premier League, Ocado, Kingfisher and Derwent London was officially named leader today (25 November).
News of the hire comes as Deliveroo experienced a period of growth throughout the pandemic, with the company announcing plans to hire 15,000 new drivers by the end of the year.
In addition, some 11,500 new restaurant partners have joined the delivery service since March.
Will Shu, founder and CEO Deliveroo, said: “Claudia brings a huge amount of experience and expertise to this role and we are all delighted and excited that she is coming on board. We are focused on becoming the definitive food company and I know she’ll help us achieve that mission.”
Arney added: “I am thrilled to be joining Will and his team for the next stage of their journey. I look forward to bringing the combination of my experience in building technology-enabled businesses and of serving on the Boards of companies facing a wide variety of opportunities and challenges to Deliveroo as it continues to grow and develop.
“There is so much more to come from Deliveroo and I feel privileged to be part of the highly talented team that drives this innovative business forward.”
