New Yotam Ottolenghi restaurant forced to close for a week after new technology fails
Yotam Ottolenghi’s new Rovi restaurant has been forced to close for a week after a new eco-friendly heat recovery system failed.
The restaurant, based in London’s Fitzrovia, had installed the new system to replace the current heat extraction equipment with an eco-friendly alternative.
The restaurant said in a statement: “Rovi will remain closed until next week. Aiming to be environmentally responsible, we had installed a state of the art heat recovery system. It was an exercise in optimism, which unfortunately failed, and we now need to go back to the old technology.
“Heartbreaking, but had to be done. We are sorry about the inconvenience, and can’t wait to share our beautiful new creation with you soon.”
Rovi in Fitzrovia is Ottolenghi’s seventh restaurant in the capital specialising in Middle East style baked goods.
A spokesman told Catering Today the restaurant will likely reopen on Wednesday.
