The Forest Side awarded four AA Rosettes

The gothic restaurant and rooms, which launched in 2016, previously won the AA Inspectors’ Choice Red Star Award last year

Luxury Lake District hotel, The Forest Side, has celebrated its Michelin star restaurant winning four AA Rosettes at this year’s AA Awards. 

The gothic restaurant and rooms, which launched in 2016, previously won the AA Inspectors’ Choice Red Star Award last year. 

The hotel’s restaurant is overseen by head chef Paul Leonard, and is described as a “true reflection” of the hotel’s surroundings.

The menu uses produce that is grown in the “expansive” kitchen garden or sourced from local suppliers to create dishes that “speak of the seasons and showcase the brigade’s culinary excellence”.

As well as the restaurant, the site features 20 bedrooms, each designed by James Mackie. They are said to offer a “luxurious contemporary country feel, aptly complimented by the rugged surroundings and magic of the Lake District”. 

The Forest Side is located in Grasmere and is surrounded by a wild wood forest, kitchen garden and farmland.

The past few years have been a roller-coaster and our team have taken each hurdle in their stride and it’s great to see their hard work being recognised.”
