MJMK breaks through £1M crowdfunding target in hours

MJMK’s portfolio includes Michelin-starred Mexican restaurant KOL, chef Nuno Mendes of Lisboeta, and cult Portuguese piri-piri chicken restaurants Casa do Frango

Restaurant group MJMK has reached its £1m crowdfunding target within the first hours post launch, with the current total close to £1.2m.

The campaign is aimed at raising funds to open a new concept with celebrated chef-partner Santiago Lastra (of KOL) and accelerate the expansion of the popular Casa do Frango restaurants across London, with a fourth site opening June 2023 in Victoria.

Having initially launched MJMK with holistic investment from friends, family and angel investors, MJMK is already a profitable business.

MJMK co-founder Marco Mendes, said: “We’re amazed to have already broken through our target of £1m before going live to the public on Crowdcube. It is so important to us that we remain true to the authentic roots of our concepts and crowdfunding will enable us to do this. We’re excited by the opportunity we are offering for like-minded investors to join us and help grow Casa do Frango as well as open a new concept with our chef-partner Santiago Lastra.”
