Starbucks to open 30 new cafés in Sainsbury’s this year

The newly launched café in Folkestone will also offer the Too Good To Go surplus food app, connecting customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold food

Starbucks has announced the expansion of its partnership with Sainsbury’s across the UK, with plans to open 30 new Starbucks cafés within Sainsbury’s stores by the end of 2022.

The announcement comes as Sainsbury’s and Starbucks are celebrating the launch of its 50th Starbucks café in partnership together, located in the Sainsbury’s West Park Farm Superstore Folkestone, and operated by regional licensee Cobra Coffee.

Elizabeth Newman, Sainsbury’s director of Commercial Partnerships, said: “We’re delighted to have reached this important milestone with Starbucks as we work together to deliver on our plans.
