Welcome Break CEO leaves for new role at Sticks ‘N’ Sushi

Rod McKie will leave motorway service operator Welcome Break after 15 years as CEO, to take up the same role at Japanese restaurant group Sticks ‘N’ Sushi next month.

McKie will start his new role in July and will remain a member of the Welcome Break board as a non-executive director from June.

Robbie Bell, chief finance officer of Welcome Break will become CEO-designate.

McKie told Insider Media: “I have enjoyed a wonderful 15 years at Welcome Break, but feel now is the right time to accept a new challenge.

“During the past 13 years as chief executive I have been proud to lead a management team that, together with the strong support of our shareholders, has been responsible for the biggest overhaul of the company since it was founded in 1959.”

Sticks ‘N’ Sushi is mainly based in London however it also has restaurants in Oxford and Cambridge.
