Black Sheep Coffee opens Manchester Arndale branch

Manchester Arndale is one of the UK’s largest city centre shopping malls with more than 200 shops and restaurants, welcoming over 42 million visitors in an average year

Black Sheep Coffee has announced a new branch opening at Manchester Arndale shopping centre after agreeing to take a 4,187 sq ft unit on Market Street on a 20-year lease. 

The coffee chain will offer its speciality-grade 100% robusta coffee and a selection of four different arabica beans. 

As part of the brand’s aim to reduce its environmental impact wherever possible, it will also make 100% compostable takeaway cups and PLA plastic alternatives available at the shopping centre store.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Manchester is a city known for its café culture and we’re delighted that Black Sheep Coffee has chosen Manchester Arndale for its latest location. 

“Already a firm favourite among locals and visitors alike, we’re looking forward to welcoming the independent operator which will provide a great stop off point for those exploring all the centre has to offer.”

Eirik Holth and Gabriel Shohet, co-founders of Black Sheep Coffee, added: “Manchester was our first city outside London and is a special place in the Black Sheep journey. We’re absolutely thrilled to open our fifth store in this incredible city.”
