Geek Retreat, a cafe and gaming shop with franchises around the UK, has agreed a lease to open a new branch in Cwmbran Centre in Wales.

It has agreed a 10-year lease for 15 North Walk. Owner and director Nathan Dummett said as well as a food and drink offer, it will trade card games, collectibles and board games, and aims to open by June 2022.

He said: “It will be like a café where people can come in, grab a free to play board game and sit down with a coffee.

“We’ll also run organised play events for trading card games and Dungeons and Dragons. I thought Cwmbran Centre needed a place like Geek Retreat where a community could get together and share interests also because it always seems to be busy and thought it would be a great business opportunity.”
