Laura Ashley opens first tea room in Cornwall

Laura Ashley has announced it is set to open The Tea Room in Cornwall at The Cornwall Hotel.

The new format, named Laura Ashley The Tea Room, will officially open to the public on Saturday 25 May. The tea room will offer a range of sweet and savoury items including hand-crafted patisseries, baked scones and Tregothnan Teas.

Laura Ashley The Tea Room will be located in the hotel’s main building, and will be decorated in signature Laura Ashley style.

Rebecca Coonan, general manager at The Cornwall Hotel, said: “We’re really excited for our new tea room to be opening later this month. We have been hard at work to make sure that we are ready for the grand opening and we are looking forward to unveiling the beautiful tea room to our guests.”

Kay Cullen, Laura Ashley designer, added: “Our inspiration behind The Cornwall design was inspired by the hotel’s location close to the coast, yet nestled in a beautiful tropical garden setting (The Lost Gardens of Heligan being right on the doorstep).

“We named the concept ‘Into the Blue’ to give the tea room a distinct identity with blue being the stand out colour mixed with contrasting pops of orange and green to reflect the wonderful colours in the surrounding trees as they change season.”
