Mitchells and Butlers joins Uber Eats
Eve Henrikson, regional GM, said that pubs across the UK have been ‘resilient’ in dealing with closures over the past 18 months, and it wants to help them ‘thrive’ by adding home delivery to their business
Uber Eats and pub operator Mitchells and Butlers have signed one of the “biggest pub partnerships” in the UK, bringing 1,000 bars, restaurants and pubs to the app.
According to the food delivery service, it is Uber’s latest move to support the pub industry after offering discounted rides to pubs earlier this year as they reopened after the national lockdown.
To encourage pubs across the country to sign up to the app, Uber Eats is setting up a special taskforce to help create a quick and easy onboarding process.
Uber Eats said to celebrate the partnership, it is offering free delivery on food from Mitchell and Butlers pubs between 11 – 18 November 2021.
Eve Henrikson, regional general manager delivery, EMEA, at Uber Eats, said: “Pubs across the UK have been resilient in dealing with closures over the past 18 months, and we want to help them thrive by adding home delivery to their business.
“Customers aren’t just using Uber Eats for a quick takeaway bite. Increasingly, we’re seeing people use the app to order sit-down meals for the whole family, and what better lunch or dinner with family and friends than some hearty pub grub.”
Susan Martindale, group HR director and executive lead on delivery at Mitchells and Butlers added: “While we don’t think there’s anything better than the full dining in experience, we’re excited to partner with Uber Eats to expand our delivery offer so even more of our customers can enjoy their favourite pub and restaurant meals at home too.”
