SSP secures deal to open three units at Berlin Airport

These outlets will formally open for trade in May 2023, and the new operations will reportedly employ a total of 75 full-time team members

SSP Group has secured a deal which will see its “world-leading” brands, Starbucks and Burger King, operate at the Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport Terminal 1.

It is reported that Starbucks and Burger King will both feature as part of the airport’s mezzanine airside food-court, with The Burger King unit spanning 329 m2 and seat 125 customers. The Starbucks coffee shop will occupy around 104 m2 space and seat roughly 28.

An additional Burger King restaurant with a 285 m2 footprint and seating for 126 diners will open landside also. These outlets will formally open for trade in May 2023, and the new operations will reportedly employ a total of 75 full-time team members.

Both brands will also feature digital elements, including digital menu boards that change according to the time of day. At Burger King, customers will be able to use self-ordering technology with 12 self-ordering terminals available airside and another 10 landside that are said to “enhance their individual order experience”.
