Celentano’s in Glasgow set to become restaurant with rooms

The husband-and-wife team opened Celentano’s in 2021, housed within Cathedral House, a listed 1896 Scottish baronial-style bed and breakfast, which the Parker will take over from late September 2024 to make their own

Michelin-bib awarded Celentano’s by co-owners Dean and Anna Parkers will evolve into Celentano’s Restaurant with Rooms this autumn.

Located within Glasgow’s historic Cathedral Square area, it is set to become the first restaurant of its kind in the city.

The husband-and-wife team opened Celentano’s in 2021, housed within Cathedral House, a listed 1896 Scottish baronial-style bed and breakfast, which the Parker will take over from late September 2024 to make their own.

The eight individually designed ensuite bedrooms situated over two floors provide a combination of three superkings, three doubles, one twin, and a loft double. The bathrooms will be stocked with Berwick-based Laura Thomas toiletries with power showers as standard whilst a roll-top bathtub also features in one of the larger rooms.

Breakfast trays of homemade food, including freshly baked sourdough bread with butter, seasonal compote and a sweet baked treat, alongside fruit and granola, are prepared in-house and can be delivered to rooms each morning or served in a breakfast room.

The new owners have taken over the site from Laura and Shane McKenzie. They have owned Cathedral House, a former half-way house for female prisoners, many of whom were suffragettes and political activists of that era, for seven years as a B&B.

The Parkers said: “This is such an exciting time for Celentano’s journey and a fantastic opportunity to help showcase what a great foodie city Glasgow is. Over the years we’ve welcomed Cathedral House B&B guests for a meal or a cocktail in the courtyard and so when the prospect came round, we felt it was a natural progression with the chance to streamline our offering. We’re looking forward to the challenges and opportunities this next step presents.”
