Shake Shack to open ‘Deliveroo Editions’ kitchen in Battersea

American burger chain Shake Shack has announced it will open a ‘Deliveroo Editions’ kitchen in Battersea on 9 May.

The kitchen will be open for delivery only from 11AM to 10:45PM, seven days a week, and customers will be able to order signature dishes as well as classic shakes and drinks.

It comes after the chain reopened its central London Tottenham Court Road and Canary Wharf sites for takeaway and delivery last month. Customers are able to order home delivery via Deliveroo from the stores, as the restaurant said it will have “strict” social distancing measures in place.

Some of the measures include face masks for all team members, floor markers to promote social distancing, contactless pick-up and delivery, and allocated pick-up zones for delivery riders.

The company has also said it will deliver 1,000 free meals to NHS hospitals in partnership with Deliveroo, and will be running a buy-one-get-one-free offer for emergency services workers.

The reopenings came after the chain temporarily closed its doors last month, following government advice.
