De Nadas to open new empanadería in Stoke Newington

The new Stoke Newington shop will also feature a Vinyl Wine Room where wine and empanada tastings can be enjoyed for up to 10 people, whilst listening to music

De Nadas, the UK’s first empanadería to specialise in Argentinian hand-shaped empanadas, is opening a 20-seater shop on Stoke Newington Church Street in London

The empanada specialist, which first launched on Notting Hill’s Golborne Road in 2022, followed by Shoreditch’s Rivington Street, will open the new shop in North London in September.

De Nadas will cater for takeaway and sit-in, serving Argentinian hand-crafted empanadas as well as alfajores (Argentinian shortbread biscuits), coffee, South American wines, beers and Vermouth.

The new Stoke Newington shop will also feature a Vinyl Wine Room where wine and empanada tastings can be enjoyed for up to 10 people, whilst listening to music.

All shaped-by-hand, De Nadas offers over 15 varieties with meat, vegetarian and plant-based fillings, as well as sweet fillings and special guest empanadas. Baked and not fried, empanadas are made with 100% Argentinian dough.

Popular meat fillings include beef, spicy lamb, chorizo and ham and cheese. Vegetarian varieties include Malbec onions and smoked cheddar, with caramelised onions in Malbec wine, caprese and Puca Capa, the Bolivian version with cheese and coriander.

De Nadas will also launch new vegan flavours in addition to its roast butternut squash and kale and a sweet empanada with dulce de leche, banana and cream cheese.

Ñako Martinez, one of the owners, said: “We can’t wait to bring a touch of Buenos Aires to Stoke Newington and be a place for neighbours, and those visiting the area, to catch up over some empanadas and good wine. Stokey has an amazing restaurant scene so we are excited to be opening our third shop there.”
