Pep Guardiola makes first foray into restaurants with Tast

Manchester City FC manager Pep Guardiola is set to open his first restaurant in the city alongside Michelin star chef Paco Perez and the Fazenda Group.
The restaurant, named Tast, is set to open on 20 July specialising in food native to the pair’s home of Catalonia.
Guardiola, alongside his Manchester City staff Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano will team up with the Fazenda Group to operate the Manchester restaurant along with planned restaurants in Leeds, Liverpool and Edinburgh.
Miquel Villacrosa will be head chef at the new Manchester restaurant, Villacrosa, was previously head chef at Restaurant Cinco in Berlin.
Villacrosa said of the new restaurant: “I fell in love with Paco’s vision of cuisine and of how he was as a chef and as a person, he cared for me like no one before. I consider myself an ambitious person and a passionate learner, who never gives up, who tries to be a good leader and to do things a bit better every day, as Paco has taught me.
“When he asked me to be head chef in Manchester it was a challenge I just had to accept.”
Perez’s Girona restaurant Miramar which offers similar Mediterranean dishes, recently received two Michelin stars.
