Bunsik to open first branch in Manchester
Over the last two years, Bunsik has opened other sites across London, from a flagship store in Chinatown to a site in Charing Cross
The grab-and-go Korean food chain Bunsik is expanding its portfolio with a new branch in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, which is set to open later on this summer.
The Manchester restaurant will be the brand’s biggest branch to date, as it will occupy 2,000 sq ft in the city centre.
Bunsik’s expansion into Manchester comes as, over the last two years, it has opened other sites across London, from a flagship store in Chinatown to a site in Charing Cross and most recently, Camden.
The Manchester restaurant will mark Bunsik’s first site outside of London and will feature an “evolved” menu with Korean soul food and corn dogs “at its core”.
The menu will include East Asian snacks such as the original corn dog, the potato corn dog, and the beef corn dog, as well as kimbap, ddukbokki, Korean fried chicken, and cup bap.
In addition, the Manchester brand will introduce a new dessert, bingsu, which will be available exclusively at the new branch. Bingsu is made from frozen cream or milk, and is a type of Korean shaved ice where a block of frozen milk or cream is grated or shaved using a knife to create a fluffy, snow-like dessert.
The restaurant also serves a selection of bubble teas, featuring freshly brewed tea and milk served hot, cool or iced with tapioca bubbles.
Upon opening in Manchester, Bunsik will also be available on Deliveroo in the area.
