India’s Copper Chimney opens its first UK restaurant in London
Indian restaurant group, Copper Chimney, has opened its first UK restaurant at Shepherds Bush, London.
The brand, which operates across five cities across India, including Mumbai and Kolkata, describes itself as a “pioneer of contemporary Indian cuisine.”
Since the opening of the first Copper Chimney site in 1972, the Indian brand aims to showcase cuisines from areas such as Delhi to South Asia’s oldest city, Peshawar. Each dish on the menu states exactly which region of North India it is inspired, including Dehli- style fried chicken to Amritsari Shrimp.
The menu also includes drinks, which are the “key elements” to Copper Chimney’s offering, with expert mixologists from India creating beverages inspired by South Asia, including the likes of “Mumbai Mule and Matunga Kaapi”, as well as serving “coffees and chais.”
Copper Chimney aims to offer “food and nutrition for all” and has been working closely with Action Against Hunger to find ways to “fight hunger and malnutrition.” Its parent company’s foundation sponsors villages in India to support children and work closely with NGOs to serve offer 6 million meals across villages in India.
