McDonald’s warns of supply chain shortages
The supply issues do not affect specific items on the menu or a particular area of the UK
McDonald’s has warned customers of ingredient shortages as signs have been put up in some branches with the warning, including on King’s Road in Chelsea, according to the Metro.
Due to the supply chain challenges, some menu items may reportedly be served with some ingredients missing and others may be temporarily unavailable.
According to reports, posters have been put up in the windows of a number of McDonald’s UK restaurants, although the supply issues do not affect specific items on the menu or a particular area of the UK.
Last year, the business suffered a shortage of tomatoes in its Teesside branches. McDonald’s was also hit with a milkshake shortage in all of its UK restaurants in August 2021, and it also ran out of bottled drinks at all of its 1,300 branches.
A McDonald’s spokesperson told Catering Today: “Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing pressures across our supply chain which, at times, may impact a small number of our menu items at certain restaurants.
“We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their patience. We are working hard to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.”
