Newport Subway to open on Christmas to aid the homeless

Subway in Newport has announced that it is set to open on Christmas Day between 11.30am–1pm to aid the homeless and vulnerable.

Franchisee William Evans and his team will welcome those in need, providing free meals and drinks in a comforting space.

Ahead of the initiative launch, Subway has worked with its supplier partners to donate and cover the costs of the food for the community initiative.

Evans said: “Everyone deserves a hot meal and some company on Christmas Day, and we want to do something nice for the local community that will spread festive cheer across Newport.

“After closing the restaurant, we’ll also distribute hot food to any tents in the local area – and anything left over will be donated to local homeless shelters in Newport. Please can everyone in the local area help spread the word so that as many people as possible will benefit from this.”
