Le Môme restaurant to open at The Berkeley in January
The new London restaurant will serve many of its signature classics as well as have the same ambience and colour palette as the original Cannes restaurant
French restaurateurs Ugo and Antoine Lecorché will bring a version of their Cannes restaurants La Môme to The Berkeley hotel in January 2025.
La Môme London will be the Lecorché brothers fourth venture, having opened La Môme Plage in 2018 and La Môme Monte Carlo in 2022.
Like the sister restaurant in Cannes, the new London restaurant will serve many of its signature classics as well as have the same ambience and colour palette with interiors designed by Cannes-based interior architect Samy Chams and framed Slim Aarons’ photos of 60s French Riviera life lining the walls.
Ugo Lecorché said: “We want to bring part of the elegance of the French Riviera of the 60s and 70s to Belgravia.”
Antoine added: “As in Cannes, La Môme London will exude the same upbeat, elegant vibe. We are trying to bring to The Berkeley an experience that is about all the senses: not only about the food, but about the welcome, the service, the music, the energy, where something interesting is happening every day.”
Dishes will be prepared in front of guests, from the snipping of thyme into olive oil to deboning a whole fish of the day. The main restaurant will seat 220 people inside and 30 outside on a newly created terrace.
In addition, a 10-seater bar will serve cocktails and small bites.
The name La Môme pays homage to Lucienne Suzanne Vreurick – nicknamed La Môme Moineau – one of Cannes’ most famous hostesses during the Riviera’s golden age, who was known for throwing lavish parties in the Bay of Cannes.
General manager at The Berkeley Kostas Sfaltos said: “We are excited to bring La Môme, a true Cannes legend, to London and believe their cosmopolitan energy and joie de vivre will bring something new to the capital.”
