Today’s news in brief – 17/02/25

The Cinnamon Collection will open its third site and its first in Leeds this May. Led by executive chef and CEO, Vivek Singh, the 105-cover restaurant and bar is launching in partnership with the Grade II-listed The Queens Hotel in Leeds city centre. The venue will be recruiting for a restaurant general manager, head chef, bartenders, servers, and chef de parties.
Mediterranean restaurant Hora has officially opened on Dover Street in Mayfair. The restaurant is a project by London-based restaurateur Dimitris Lytras, formerly brand director at Hovarda London and group nightlife director at Caprice Holdings. The restaurant features diverse dining areas and a private room called Etna – which accommodates up to 30 guests seated at a long table or 80 standing – on the second level.
A new pizza concept, Forbici, will be opening in Manchester next month, bringing with it authentic Neapolitan pizza. Born in the heart of Naples, Forbici’s dough will be handmade fresh daily, crafted from flour sourced from Molini Pizzuti and proofed for 12 hours to ensure an “airy” crust with high-walls. Staying true to its name, meaning scissors in Italian, Forbici will serve pizza the Neapolitan way: quartered with scissors.
Mediterranean restaurant PYRÃ will be officially opening in Queen’s Park this week. Inspired by the flavours of Spain and Greece, the new opening will be replacing Lula as the vision of Andrew Dax, who was also the founder of Chameleon, a pop-up Tel Avivian restaurant at One Marylebone. The new restaurant will be led by head chef Mattia Caddeo, who has over 20 years of experience having honed his skills in Italy, Japan, Moscow, and the UK.
