Today’s news in brief – 21/11/24
Cooks Coffee saw its total store sales for the UK&I rise 26% to £15.7m and like-for-like sales rise by 5.1%. In the UK, total store sales increased by 36% to £10.87m for the six months ended 30 September 2024. Meanwhile, in Ireland, its total sales increased 6% to £4.83m, and like-for-like sales increased 2.9%.
Mr Bao Group has changed its name to ‘6 of 1’, following the launch of Good Measure earlier this year. It comes as the group, which was first founded in 2016 in Peckham with the opening of Mr Bao, is set to be a collection of individual, hospitality-focused concepts, with plans to expand further beyond Taiwanese restaurants.
Roseacre Pub Company has hit its 10th pub milestone, with plans for further expansion. The group along with Star Pubs are now undertaking a joint £350k refurb of The Roseycombe near Coventry prior to reopening the pub in time for Christmas. The pub, which will create 25 new jobs, will serve drinks only initially and will introduce food in early January.
The Clove Club Group co-founders have announced an “amicable” parting of ways. As a result, Johnny Smith and Daniel Willis will create two separate businesses for their restaurants: The Clove Club and LUCA. The trio founded The Clove Club in Shoreditch together and went on to launch LUCA, Clerkenwell in 2016, under The Clove Club Group.
