Tasty expects to report lower sales for FY24 after a challenging H2. Although the group’s restructuring plan, sanctioned on 4 June 2024, will enable the return to profitability and should “secure the company’s long-term future”, the resultant closures of part of the group’s estate has had a “negative impact on sales”.
Popeyes will double its UK footprint with the opening of more than 45 new restaurants in 2025. In doing so, it will increase its presence in major cities including Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol as well as expanding further in Manchester, Liverpool, London and Scotland. In 2024 Popeyes opened 33 locations and delivered a 100% increase in total sales.
SSP Group has announced that Geert Verellen will join in early April as CFO designate, following deputy chief executive and CFO Jonathan Davies’ intention to retire. Davies has been the group chief financial officer of SSP since its original formation within Compass Group in 2004. Verellen will bring extensive financial and operational experience.
Six by Nico has opened bookings for its opening on 17 February with its first menu The Chippie, which is inspired by Nico Simeone’s personal family heritage. Since its inception in 2017, he has reinvented his innovative menu over the years, opening each new location with The Chippie.
